Carolinas Conference Results (on the way)

I'll post the tabulated results when they become available, but for now: Congrats to The Citadel from Team Georgia Tech! We're looking forward to traveling west to CSTX with you in a month.

In other news: Georgia Tech Steel Bridge takes First at Carolinas Conference after breaking sound barrier atop Chevy Silverado.

Caution!!!! Do not try this at home. Do not place steel bridge atop vehicle without adult supervision.

Congratulations to GT and The Citadel!

It will be Cal and San Jose State from the Mid-Pacific. UC Davis had the Bridge to win the Region, but a roll of the dice, left mid-span lateral sway a hair too wide. It was heartbreaking for those involved. They were looking at a 175 lb, ~0.25 to 0.4 deflection, and about 5 builder, 1 pier and 6 minutes of time at the regional.

Good Luck to everyone at CSTX.

Load case was 3 or 4 I believe. The long span load was almost dead center of the span.

I am wondering what load scenario was used at the Pacific Southwest Conference. With deflections so low I'm wondering if they had load case 1 or 6 on the mainspan and whichever DCB location is closest to the cantilever end legs.

From what our friends and LA told us, te load scenario was near pier for both...it was a very favorable load case for beam type bridges.
